Men, too, can benefit from a variety of body contouring procedures. For instance, Dr. Matarasso frequently performs liposuction for male patients seeking to eliminate unwanted fat deposits, typically in the breasts (a condition called gynecomastia), around the abdomen and waist, and along the chin and neck.
Dr. Matarasso is experienced in male abdominal contouring, including both liposuction and abdominoplasty (tummy tuck). He wrote a textbook chapter called “Abdominal Contour Surgery in the Male Patient” and has been quoted in the men’s health book, The Male Body: An Owner’s Manual (1996). His articles on “the male abdominoplasty” have been published in peer-reviewed medical journals including Clinics in Plastic Surgery, and he has been invited to lecture about performing abdominoplasty and liposuction in men at professional society meetings in the U.S. and Canada. He spoke on the subject at numerous medical institutions as a traveling professor for the American Society for Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery.
